About this course

There is much written about Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and has a long research history, becoming popular in 1995 when Daniel Goleman wrote his bestselling book.

For years the research has told us that to be successful in our personal and professional lives we need Emotional Intelligence (EQ) In particular, recent research has established clear links between specific emotional skills and outstanding leadership success. We know that having great leaders at every level of the organisation is key to attracting and importantly retaining talent.

Emotional Capital is the most important source of competitive advantage in organisations today.

In this workshop we will delve into the Emotional Capital Model understanding the importance of the “triple focus” as a leader and for the organisation. The concept of Emotional Capital represents a new and powerful approach to contemporary leadership. Emotions are involved with everything an organisation does. Emotions determine whether people will work well with you. The value of the positive morale, engagement and commitment that lies in the heart of everyone connected with the organisation shows up in performance.

Leaders high in emotional capital create value and influence through their capacity to identify with the emotional experience and aspirations of their people and build shared identities with them.

They are able to establish trust, understand people need to belong to a group and therefore establish effective teams. They create and communicate compelling visions, develop a plan of action and lead their ability to inspire people to act together.

Leaders must become masters of mood and lead organisations that excite, energise and enthuse.
